Listen to this article

Wonderful Netflix Serie of six long episodes. It deals with the founders of Spotify: Daniel Ek & Martin Lorentzon, the team behind it, all the stakeholders in this endeavor and the challenges and fun occurring during the time of creation in Sweden. No matter how big or modest this Tv show is, in terms of budget, actors’ notoriety, and shooting places and techniques, the creativity and the approach are well suited for the whole project making the coherence undeniable inside the episode and creating a fluidity in moving from one “theme” of an episode to another. The first episode is about the Swedish founder who is portrayed as a brilliant INTJ. It was amazing to see the passion and dedication to creating this new platform. His personal life is also depicted and presented like it’s his version of the story. He goes through struggles during the period before launching Spotify but he’s determined to engage fully until the end of the tunnel, if there is one. The second episode is focusing on the CEO of Sony in Sweden. He is traditional but values creativity in music and cares a lot about artists and their creations. He’s living in the period of the rise of Pirate Bay and music being downloaded by a massive number of people using this “grey zone” website. As an ESTJ, he is thorned between his second and third mental processes. Introverted Si pushes him to preserve the status quo and keep the music industry alive with the same procedures. On the other hand, extraverted intuition Ne is looking for a new solution to the music industry crisis, especially in Sweden. So he tries to follow orders from Sony headquarters: to fire people that he didn’t want to fire and fight against Pirate Bay and anyone who wants to offer music for free. He’s determined to crush Pirate Bay. So when the founder of Spotify pitched his business model, his Si and mindset couldn’t accept the change presented but his colleague convinced him to listen and he ended up loving the technical capabilities of the platform.
